    M.D.

    Robert Randell, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his residency at University of New Mexico Hospitals. In addition, he completed a fellowship in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Dr. Randell is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with sub-specialty certification in Blood Banking.

    Paul A. Baekey, M.D. is a graduate from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Florida Department of Pathology. Dr. Baekey completed an Immunopathology Fellowship at the University of Florida, Department of Pathology. Dr. Baekey is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Immunopathology.

  • Chung-Che (Jeff) Chang /

    M.D., Ph.D.

    Chung-Che (Jeff) Chang, M.D., Ph.D. is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Hematopathology and Molecular Genetics Pathology with special interests and expertise in hematopathology, molecular oncology and minimal residual disease monitoring. He is a Professor of Pathology, University of Central Florida. Before joining our group, Dr. Chang was a Professor of Pathology, Cornell University and Chief of Hematopathology Division, The Methodist Hospital. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, is a member of Diagnostic Immunology/Flow Cytometry Resource Committee and Molecular Oncology Resource Committee for College of American Pathologists (CAP) and is the CAP Liaison to NCI Biomarker Committee. He was the Principle Investigator of several NIH/NCI funded grants to study myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and lymphoma. Dr. Chang completed his M.D. degree at National Yang-Ming Medical University, Taipei, Taiwan and obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Cleveland, Ohio. He completed pathology residency training at CWRU and hematopathology fellowship training at University of Utah. Dr. Chang served as a faculty member at Medical College of Wisconsin and Baylor College of Medicine after training.

  • Na’im Fanaian /

    M.D.

    Na’im Fanaian, M.D. is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with special interests in genitourinary and pancreatic pathology. He received his M.D. degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed an internship in general surgery at Emory and his pathology residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. He served as a junior faculty member and completed a general surgical pathology fellowship at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland.

  • Juliana Gaitan /

    M.D.

    Juliana Gaitan, M.D. is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty training in Transfusion Medicine and Cytopathology. Dr. Gaitan has expertise and special interests in system-wide optimization of transfusion practices, application of information technology resources to optimize laboratory processes, pancreatic cytopathology and medical education in Pathology. Dr. Gaitan obtained her Medical Degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. She completed postdoctoral training in Clinical Immunology at the University of Miami and in Tumor Immunology at Stanford University. Dr. Gaitan trained in Pathology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami serving as Chief Resident during her last year. She then completed fellowship training in Cytopathology and Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking at Stanford University Medical Center in California.

    M.D.

    Luis A. Guarda, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Chile School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Department of Pathology, West Virginia University and a fellowship in Anatomic Pathology at MD Anderson. Dr. Guarda is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology.

  • Edward Jones /

    M.D.

    Edward Jones, M.D. is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty training in Cytopathology. His interests include medical cytopathology as well as head and neck pathology and breast pathology. Dr. Jones attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed a General Surgery internship and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Orlando Health. He went on to complete a Cytopathology fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Prior to joining Florida Hospital Dr. Jones practiced at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville.

  • Shantel Hébert-Magee /

    M.D.

    Shantel Hébert-Magee, M.D.attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She continued on at Georgetown University Hospital completing a combined residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and serving as chief resident during her last year. Subsequently, Dr. Hébert-Magee went to the National Cancer Institute and completed a Translational Surgical Pathology fellowship followed by a Cytopathology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before joining Florida Hospital, Dr. Hébert-Magee was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology, Division of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was also an Associate Scientist in the Clinical Cancer Center and was the recipient of several honors and awards, particularly for her research in minority health and health disparities. Dr. Hébert-Magee’s primary areas of clinical interests are pancreatic and breast neoplasia with an emphasis on cytopathologic interpretation and clinical impact. Dr. Hébert-Magee has published several peer reviewed manuscripts, chapters, editorials, and white papers. She is working closely with the internationally renowned faculty in the Center for Interventional Endoscopy (CIE) to foster the academic and clinical research initiatives and to provide advanced comprehensive care.

  • Pawini Khanna /

    M.D.

    Pawini Khanna, M.D. is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Pediatric Pathology. Her areas of special interest are Pediatric and Perinatal Pathology, and Medical Microbiology. Before joining Florida Hospital medical staff, she practiced general Pathology and perinatal/pediatric pathology at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, FL . She received her M.B.B.S degree from Govt. Medical College, Amritsar (Pb), India followed by M.D. degree at the same institution in Medical Microbiology where she completed a post doctoral thesis. She spent four years in Australia where she worked in general pediatrics and as a registrar (clinical fellow) in clinical microbiology. She did Pathology residency training at Brown University, Providence, RI and USF, Tampa, FL and completed her Pediatric Pathology fellowship training at USF, Tampa, FL.

    M.D., Ph.D.

    M. Joe Ma, M.D., Ph.D. is a graduate of Taipei Medical University (1985) and University of Minnesota Twin Cities (1991). He completed his Anatomic Pathology residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital (1994) and Neuropathology Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital (1996). Dr. Ma is board certified in Anatomic Pathology (1995) and Neuropathology (1997). He joined FH Medical Staff in 2001 and has been covering services in general surgical pathology, cytopathology and autopsy.

  • Jie (Jenny) Ouyang /

    M.D.

    Jie (Jenny) Ouyang, M.D. completed her M.D. degree at Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, Guangzhou, China and had ophthalmology residency training in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center. Dr. Ouyang’s special areas of interest include liver/GI pathology, breast pathology, gynecologic pathology, ophthalmic and transplantation pathology. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Miami, receiving the Award of Academic Merit from the University of Miami Graduate School. Dr. Ouyang completed her pathology residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, serving as chief resident during her last year and receiving the Chair’s Award for Outstanding Scholarship. She completed her Liver/GI pathology fellowship training at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York.

  • Peter Pernicone /

    M.D.

    Peter Pernicone, M.D. is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, 1986. He completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He served as a consultant in surgical pathology at Mayo Clinic. Special areas of interest include liver pathology, breast pathology, gynecologic pathology and transplantation pathology.

  • Michael Radi /

    M.D.

    Michael Radi, M.D. is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School. He completed his residency at the University of New Mexico Hospitals and completed a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Radi has board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with subspecialty certification in Cytopathology. His special areas of interest are gynecological pathology, cytopathology, pediatric pathology and immunohistochemistry.

  • Deborah Thoni /

    Deborah Thoni, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences. She completed her residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Thoni is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She currently serves as Medical Director of Florida Hospital Altamonte and Florida Hospital Apopka and is Director of the Histocompatibility Laboratory.

    Tien-Anh N. Tran, M.D. is a graduate of Albert Ludwigs University, Freiburg, Germany. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Albany Medical College, New York. Dr. Tran completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY and a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Dr. Tran is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Dermatopathology.

  • David E. Ward /

    D.O.

    David E. Ward, D.O. is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology with special interests in hematopathology, flow cytometry and myelodysplastic syndromes. Before joining our group, Dr. Ward practiced general pathology in the US Army at a rank of Major and was stationed at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. While in the Army, he received numerous awards including two Meritorious Service Medals. Dr. Ward completed his D.O. degree at Midwestern University, Glendale, Arizona. He completed his pathology training at Madigan Army Medical Center Tacoma, WA and his Hematopathology fellowship at University of Massachusetts Worcester, MA. After training he was Medical Director of Histology and Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine at Tripler Army Medical Center.

  • Laura Geisel Sullivan /

    M.D.

    Laura Geisel Sullivan, M.D. is a graduate of the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Her pathology residency and fellowship training were completed at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Sullivan is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and she has subspecialty board certification in both Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and Hematopathology. She received the Alumnae Achievement Award in 2008 from Randolph College, her undergraduate alma mater.

  • Darian S. Kameh /

    M.D.

    Darian S. Kameh, M.D. completed his Pathology Residency at Orlando Health, and a Cytopathology Fellowship at the UF Jacksonville campus. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology. Dr. Kameh is currently the Medical Laboratory Director for the Florida Hospital Celebration Health and Kissimmee campuses. He has extensive experience in the area of prostate pathology.
